Understanding Good Health is a book published by Adult Migrant English Services (AMES). On the site you can download the book for free and audio can be played online to use for the nine chapters. The book covers basic introductory to health, such as teeth, depression, alcohol and stress. The level of the book is for pre- intermediate and up. Depending how the educator wants to use the book, I have used the book for low levels too which was effective. Like most AMES books, it covers reading, writing, listening and speaking skills which is detailed to use in class. Adult learners found learning the words from this book beneficial so they know what to say when they see a doctor. In addition, the book is written in Australia and was created for Australian migrants which I found a bonus.
Understanding Good Health is designed accordingly to the relevant health topics. The layout of the book is simple and is organised appropriately for all learners and educators to follow.
